The second match of the four-match Test series between India and England will be played at the M Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After almost a year, the spectators are going to return to the ground in this match. Since the lockdown caused by Corona in March last year, there was a ban on the entry of spectators in the stadium inside India. Taking a decision by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and the BCCI, 50 percent of the spectators were allowed to watch the second Test. Meanwhile, BCCI has shared a special post on its social media account about the return of the audience after a long time.
Dear #TeamIndia fans we’ve missed you and we are now all set to welcome back crowds to cricket for the second Test.
The BCCI has shared a small video on its Twitter, showing empty chairs and the noise of the audience. Sharing this video, the BCCI wrote, ‘We missed you dear fans of the Indian team and now we are fully ready to welcome the audience again for the second Test match. Can’t wait to see you making noise on Chepauk grounds tomorrow. ‘ In other countries, spectators have returned to the ground, but this will be the first time in India when the noise of spectators will be seen in the stadium after one year.
In the first Test match of the series, Team India lost to England by 227 runs. Chasing a target of 420 runs, the entire team of India was all out after scoring just 192 runs.
