On Thursday, Prasad announced his retirement, saying, ‘I have enjoyed my game. I was invited to SSC by Marvan Attapattu. I got a lot of support from people like the late Michael Di Joessa and Mahinda Halangoda.

37-year-old K Prasad played the last Test match against West Indies in October 2015. He has taken 75 and 32 wickets respectively, representing Sri Lanka in 25 Tests, 24 ODIs. He played the only T20 International against Australia in 2011.
