New Delhi. Fast bowler S Sreesanth has made a great comeback in domestic cricket. On February 18, no team had bought this fast bowler in the IPL auction. In a match of Vijay Hazare Trophy, Sreesanth took 5 wickets against UP. He is returning to the List A tournament from the current season after 10 years. 38-year-old Sreesanth was banned for life due to spot-fixing in the IPL. But later the court reduced this to 7 years. After this, Sreesanth returned to cricket again from this season. He has been a part of the champion Indian team of 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup. He performed five wickets after 15 years in list cricket.
The last time he took six wickets for 55 runs in the ODI match against England in 2006 in Indore. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy against UP on Monday, this bowler took five wickets for 65 runs in 9.4 overs. Sreesanth dismissed Abhishek Goswami, Akashdeep Nath, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohsin Khan and Shivam Sharma. In this match being played in Bengaluru, UP’s team was dismissed for 283 runs in 49.4 overs while playing first. Sreesanth took two wickets in the last over. He has taken 7 wickets in two matches of the tournament. He also took two wickets in the first match against Odisha. Talking about List A career, Sreesanth has taken 118 wickets in 88 matches.
Sreesanth has taken 40 wickets in IPL
Sreesanth has played five seasons of IPL. Between 2008 and 2013, he took 40 wickets in 44 matches. Three wickets for 29 runs is his best performance. He has played for Punjab Kings, Kochi Tuskers and Rajasthan Royals. Talking about the overall T20 career, he has taken 54 wickets in 65 matches. Recently, he also landed in T20 Mushtaq Ali Trophy.
