New Delhi. Indian cricket team’s fast bowler Umesh Yadav has to undergo a fitness test before the third Test to be played against England. Only then will it be decided whether he will play the third fast bowling role with Jaspreet Bumrah and Ishant Sharma in the Ahmedabad Test. The third match of the series is to be played from 24 February which will be Day Night.
The Indian team also wants to play in the Pink Ball Test on its own strength and it is expected that there can be a turn in the pitch here too. Where R Ashwin and Akshar Patel were able to take full advantage of the pitch. In the second Test match played in Chennai, both these bowlers took the wickets of 15 England batsmen in 20 on the turning pitch. Kuldeep Yadav may be ruled out for the third Test as Jasprit Bumrah will return.
On Friday, the BCCI said, Umesh Yadav’s fitness test is to be done in the next one or two days. Umesh was injured during the second Test match played against Australia in Melbourne, after which he had to be ruled out of the tour. After his fit, he can come into the team as the third bowler. In this way Mohammad Siraj will have to sit outside. The first two matches of the four-match Test series were played in Chennai. The first match was won by the England team. After this, India came back to win the second Test and got 1-1 in the series. The third match is to be played in Ahmedabad. The match will be Day Night and for the first time in India both teams are going to play the Pink Ball Test.
