Cheteshwar Pujara said what will be India’s strategy against Pink Ball

The third Test match between India and England will be played at Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. Pink Ball can play an important role in Day Night match starting 24 February. Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara said on Saturday that it is difficult to predict how much SG ball will swing in the first Test played at Flood Light at Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad.

India beat England by 317 runs in the second Test on the turning pitch of Chepauk to achieve a 1–1 draw in the four-match series and all eyes are now on the pitch of the third Test starting here on 24 February. India does not have much experience playing with Pink Ball and has played only two matches. “We are not sure about how much the ball will swing, especially in this test,” Pujara said at the virtual media conference after the first net session. He said, ‘Initially it may swing a little, but as the match progresses, it may not swing much, but we can’t say anything about the pink ball, it is quite difficult to predict.’

Pujara said that the pitch looks good to him but it can also change as there is still three-four days left for the Test to start. He said, ‘It will be a different match from Red Ball. But it is very difficult to say or assess anything before the match starts with the pink ball because sometimes you expect something else and something else happens with the pink ball. He said, “As a player I will try to keep things very simple and will not worry too much about the pitch.” Pujara said, ‘I have played many Test matches but I do not have much experience with Pink Ball. I don’t think experience matters when you are playing only one match with Pink Ball in a Test series.
