TMC mayor and 3 councilors hold ‘saffron flag’ ahead of Bengal election, giving blow to Mamata Banerjee


The assembly election in West Bengal has been sounded. Voting for the first phase will take place on 27 March. Earlier, the BJP has been continuously trying to shock the ruling TMC. Now Debashish Jana, the mayor-in-council of Bidhannagar and three Trinamool Congress (TMC) councilors from Asansol, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kolkata on Wednesday.

Let us tell you that yesterday TMC MLA Jitendra Tiwari also took BJP membership in presence of Bengal BJP President. Today he inducted four TMC leaders into the BJP.

The tussle between TMC and BJP continues before the assembly elections in Bengal. In recent months, many leaders from TMC have turned to BJP. These include names like Shubhendu Adhikari and Rajeev Bawarji.

Elections for the 294 assembly seats in West Bengal will begin on March 27. The state is going to have eight phase of assembly elections this year.
