From where the Supreme Court has upheld the decision of the lower court. After this, Shabnam-Salim sent a mercy petition to the President, but rejected his petition from Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Shabnam will be the first female prisoner to be hanged after independence. The only hanging house in Mathura jail in the country where the woman can be hanged. At present, Shabnam Bareilly and Salim are lodged in Agra Jail. In Mathura Jail, a female hanging house was built 150 years ago. No woman has been hanged here since independence. According to the Senior Jail Superintendent, the date of execution is not fixed yet, but we have started the preparation. Order for rope has been placed. Shabnam-Salim will be hanged as soon as the death warrant is issued. However, where Salim will be hanged is not yet decided.



In the small village of Bawankhedi, adjacent to the Hasanpur town of Amroha, no one has forgotten the sight of the intervening night of April 14-15. Here, Shikamitra Shabnam, along with his lover Salim, killed his father Master Shaukat, mother Hashmi, brothers Anees and Rashid, sister-in-law Anjum and his sister Rabia with an ax. The nephew had strangled Arsh. These people were becoming obstacles in the path of his love. The case was heard in Amroha court for two years and three months. After which, on 15 July 2010, the District Judge SAA Hussaini ruled that Shabnam and Salim should be hanged till the death of them.
