Mathura: The jail administration has started preparations to hang the woman in Mathura jail. This hanging can be given to Shabnam, a woman living in Amroha. In April 2008, he, along with lover Salim, killed 7 of his own family members with an ax. Mathura jail administration has ordered rope. Pawan Jallad, who hanged the culprits of the Nirbhaya incident, has also taken stock of the hanging house. However, the date of hanging has not been decided yet. If Shabnam is hanged, it will be the first case of independent India. However the convict Shabnam challenged the decision of the court by the Supreme Court. From where the Supreme Court has upheld the decision of the lower court. After this, Shabnam-Salim sent a mercy petition to the President, but rejected his petition from Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Shabnam will be the first female prisoner to be hanged after independence. The only hanging house in Mathura jail in the country where the woman can be hanged. At present, Shabnam Bareilly and Salim are lodged in Agra Jail. In Mathura Jail, a female hanging house was built 150 years ago. No woman has been hanged here since independence. According to the Senior Jail Superintendent, the date of execution is not fixed yet, but we have started the preparation. Order for rope has been placed. Shabnam-Salim will be hanged as soon as the death warrant is issued. However, where Salim will be hanged is not yet decided.
