A day after Congress President Sonia Gandhi wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the fuel price hike, his son-in-law and businessman Robert Vadra registered a protest against the fuel prices by riding a bicycle to come to his office.
Wearing a suit and a helmet, he cycled from the Khan Market area to his office and hit out at the Modi government, saying that PM Narendra Modi should “come out of his AC cars and see how people are suffering”.
A video shared by news agencies showed that two other people were chasing Vadra on a bicycle. Policemen were also seen controlling traffic.
Vadra also slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for sitting in AC cars, while people are suffering the cost of increasing fuel prices. “You (PM) should come out of AC cars and see how people are suffering and maybe then you are reducing fuel prices,” he said.
“Everything he does blames others (previous governments) for everything and moves on,” he said.
In Madhya Pradesh too, Congress leaders including PC Sharma, Jeetu Patwari and Kunal Chaudhary carried their cycles to the Vidhan Sabha. Petrol price in the state has already crossed Rs 100.
