New Delhi. Rahul Gandhi reached his parliamentary constituency Wayanad on a two-day tour on Monday. Here he participated in some events including tractor rally. Taking a dig at the Prime Minister, the former Congress President said – When Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, he made fun of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA or MNREGA). Described this as an insult to Indians. But, in the era of Kovid, this MNREGA was used to increase the income of the poor. Money was transferred to the account of the poor. In the Malappuram area, Rahul Gandhi interacted with 2 girls. Rahul said, ‘They are the future of the country. One child wants to become a doctor and the other wants to go to the police. She said that she wants to protect the weak and poor, so she will become a policeman. She did not say that she wants to take away the rights of the poor.
Rahul, who visited Kerala, reached the CMC Convent School in Kenichira in Kalipetta. He held long talks with the staff here and unveiled the Mahatma Gandhi statue. He then reached a tractor rally to show solidarity to the farmers. After this rally, Rahul said- The world has come to know what kind of problems the farmers of India are facing, but the government sitting in Delhi does not feel the pain of the farmers. The pop stars are commenting on the situation of the farmers. Modi government is not interested in this issue.
Rahul further said – Till the time we do not pressurize the government, the three new agricultural laws will not be withdrawn. The reason for this, and that is that these laws have been made to destroy India’s agricultural system. These three laws are designed to benefit 2 or 3 business friends of Modi. Rahul Gandhi will visit Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday. Will inaugurate a cancer detection and treatment center here. Kerala has assembly elections in May.
