Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the growing forest area in the state is good news for the world. On Wednesday, he attended the inaugural session of the one-day workshop of Chief Conservator of Forests and Forest Officers held at the Academy of Administration. Addressing the gathering here, he said, “There is a need to increase innovation in the forest sector.” He said, ‘Van Vihar in Bhopal is a great gift in itself. Develop it as a model that people from Singapore also come here for a night safari. ‘
He also said, ‘In this age of climate change, it is necessary to protect not only humans but only animals. The growing forest cover in the state is good news for the world. Addressing the gathering further, he said, ‘Service to the public and security of the public is the responsibility of the officers and employees of the Forest Service. It is important to be sensitive to the problems of the people living in the forest area. All eligible persons should get leases under the Forest Rights Act without any hassle. He also said, “As much as the forest dwellers have the responsibility to save the environment, so do the other people. So that the forest dwellers have no problem. Strict action is required on various mafias operating in the forest area. New restrictions in the forest area should be stopped. ‘
He further congratulated all the forest officials on the formation of a tiger state in the state, which increased the number of leopards, crocodiles and vultures. During this, the Chief Minister also said, ‘The forest area has been expanded only with the cooperation of the public. In this, the work of forest committees is commendable. Jhabua is an example of this. There is a need to increase agricultural forestry. Praised the work done at the level of society towards carbon credit in Indore. ‘He also said, “There is a need for simplification of rules regarding the use of trees planted on our land. There is a need to increase employment opportunities in forest-based activities and sale of forest produce. The importance of forest medicines increased Is. Corona period. We have to consider what activities can occur from the forest area apart from wood. ”
While further addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister also said that the safety of forest employees will be ensured. Forest contributes 2% to the state’s gross domestic product. We have to increase it by 5%. There is a need to fulfill the goals related to the forest department in a time bound manner under the roadmap laid down for the creation of self-sufficient Madhya Pradesh.
