Mumbai. In contrast to decreasing corona infections in other parts of the country, cases are increasing in Maharashtra. The state recorded 5,427 cases of corona infection on Thursday in the state. According to news agency ANI, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has also been hit by Corona infection. In view of increasing cases of corona infection in the state, new restrictions are being imposed in the affected cities. The BMC has also issued a new guideline for Mumbai in view of increasing infection cases. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has decided to file criminal cases against those violating the Kovid Security Guidelines issued by it. An official said BMC has stepped up action against those found in public without masks. It has been decided to take action against function halls, gymnasiums and other establishments that do not comply with Kovid safety standards.
BMC Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal has directed the deployment of additional marshals on suburban trains and directed to speed up the Kovid investigation of the people. 300 marshals have been hired to monitor people traveling without masks in the train. BMC has also increased the amount of fine on people who do not wear masks in public places. It has been made mandatory to send those returning from Brazil to the Institutional Quarantine.
