Every year, Sheetla Ashtami is celebrated on the eighth day of Holi, i.e., the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha in the month of Chaitra. This time this fast is falling on 4 April 2021. Sheetla Ashtami is also called Basoda. A day before Ashtami Tithi i.e. on Saptami Tithi, Prasad’s food is prepared for Sheetla Ashtami, it is called Basoda. People also eat stale food on this day.
