The majestic Jog waterfall in Karnataka is set to bring a much needed change. Reportedly, officials are planning a host of projects, including the Padmavati temple at Hebbel, and boating facilities of 400 meters of ropeway.
Reportedly, apart from these facilities, a science park and an amphitheater will also be developed here. Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) has already started commissioning work to ensure that the place is soon converted into a world class tourist destination.
As a part of the makeover, the current viewing deck will be upgraded, while another will be added. In addition, the amphitheater will be developed for cultural events, there will be a science park to house children and children, which will have facilities such as toilets and cafeterias.
Sources in KPCL said that the project is a brainchild of Shivamogga MP BY Raghavendra and also includes a religious aspect. The source further said that in this project, boating facility will start from Jungle Lodge at Vadanbilu Padmavati Temple in Hebbel village. Currently, tourists require permission from KPCL to travel to the temple via Kernel, which is at a distance of 15 km. With the introduction of the boating facility, it will have prior approval and will cut time and distance while providing a unique experience at the same time.
Reportedly, KPCL has set 2023 as the deadline for the project, while officials are also planning to renovate the swimming pool which was demolished about six years ago.
