For the study, presented at the annual meeting of the Endocrine Society at about 2021, researchers analyzed data from 10,575 adults. They divided the participants into three groups based on the total duration of food intake: 10 hours, 10–13 hours and more than 13 hours per day. They then formed six subgroups based on the duration of the meal, starting before or after 8: 30 am.

They analyzed this data to determine whether eating duration and time were associated with increased blood sugar levels and predicted insulin resistance.
