New Delhi: Climate activist Disha Ravi has been arrested from Bengaluru on charges of involvement in sharing ‘toolkit’ on social media of farmers. The arrest of Disha Ravi has been opposed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He described it as an ‘unprecedented attack’ on democracy. CM Kejriwal wrote in tweeting, ’21-year direction Ravi’s arrest is an unprecedented attack on democracy. Supporting his farmers is not a crime. Police said on Sunday that Disha Ravi was arrested by the Cyber Cell team of Delhi Police on Saturday.
The police alleged that Ravi and others colluded with the pro-Khalistan-based ‘Poetic Justice Foundation’ to spread disharmony against India. The Delhi Police tweeted and claimed, “Ravi was also one of those who shared the toolkit with Greta Thanberg. A senior police officer said that Ravi was detained from his house for questioning and later to create a ‘toolkit’ And was arrested on charges of involvement in its dissemination. Ravi holds a BBA degree from a private college in Bangalore and is also a founding member of an organization called ‘Fridays for Future India’.

The Congress MP opposed the arrest of climate activist in the toolkit case, saying India cannot be silenced. He wrote, ‘Bol ki lab azad hai tere, Bol’s truth is alive till now. They are afraid, not the country. India cannot be silenced.
Supporting farmers is not a crime: Kejraveel
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejraveel has protested against the arrest of climate activist. He said, ’21 years of Disha Ravi’s arrest is an unprecedented attack on democracy. It is not a crime to support our farmers.
