Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait was attacked in Alwar on Friday evening. Some people attacked his car with stones and batons and beat up the people involved in his convoy. Tikait told that he tried to snatch the pistol from his gunner. After the attack, the agitated farmers demonstrated at many places on the Delhi-UP border and due to this, there was a long jam in the night. After this, Tikait said that this incident was due to the conspiracy of the BJP and now the BJP has been exposed . He said the attackers involved in the incident are active activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and are close to local MP Balak Nath and BJP state president Satish Poonia.
He appealed to the farmers not to take any action against the incident and further strategy would be decided by discussing it in the United Front meeting. Tikait said that we are not afraid of this Sanghi conspiracy and our programs will continue. Tikait warned the BJP that if such incidents were done with the leaders of the United Front, then even the MPs-MLAs of the BJP would not be able to walk on the road. Many leaders active in the peasant movement have warned of agitation against this incident.
The United Kisan Morcha has said that the farmers will march till Parliament in May. The farmers are opposing three agricultural laws and have been camping on the Delhi border for the past several months. Farmer leaders have said that the march of Parliament in the first fortnight of May will be a part of this march, including farmers and laborers, women, Dalit-Adivasi-Bahujan, unemployed youth and all sections of the society. He said that the farmers will stop the KMP Expressway on April 10 for 24 hours.
