Puducherry: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold a road show in support of Bharatiya Janata Party candidates in select areas here on Thursday.
According to an event chart released to the media by the BJP office on Wednesday, the Home Minister will arrive at Puducherry Airport at 09:30 am and later visit the Sitahanda Temple.
Subsequently, he will participate in roadshows in support of BJP candidates in these constituencies – Lospet Constituency (Saminathan), Kamaraj Nagar constituency (John Kumar) and Kalapet constituency (Kalasundaram).
The minister will leave for Thirukoilur in Tamil Nadu at 1135 hours from Puducherry Airport. Assembly elections in the union territories will be held on 6 April and the votes will be counted on 2 May.
Also, on 30 March, PM Narendra Modi went to Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry to campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
On Tuesday, the Union Health Ministry announced that India has registered 56,211 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The country also recorded 37,028 recoveries with 271 deaths. India’s total coronavirus cultoides has now grown to 1,20,95,855, of which 5,40,720 are active cases.
