Satyendra Nath Bose was an Indian mathematician and physicist largely known for his invention of boson or ‘god particle’. Renowned physicist Bose-Einstein is best recognized for his collaboration with Albert Einstein in the theory of the development of condensate and the foundation of Bose-Einstein statistics. On his 136th birth anniversary, here are some interesting facts.
The famous physicist was born on 1 January 1894 in Calcutta (now Kolkata). He died on 4 February 1974 at the age of 80.
Bose’s most prominent achievement is his association with Einstein, while he is working on quantum physics and relativity theory. The Bose – Einstein condens ate was a consequence of Bose and Einstein’s prediction of the position of a dilute gas case.
For his outstanding service to science and research, the Government of India awarded him the Padma Vibhushan in 1954, India’s second highest civilian award. The government also sn. Bose National Center for Basic Sciences in 1986.
To Satyendra Nath Bose, for his contributions to the integrated field theory and Bose-Einstein statistics. Banerjee, S.N. Bagchi, D.S. Kothari and AK Dutta, Nobel Prize in Physics. It is known that when the physicist was asked about not receiving the Nobel Prize, he replied, “I have received all the recognition I deserve”. He died at the age of 90 in Calcutta. Rabindranath Tagore dedicated his only book, Biswa-Parchi, to Bose in 1937.
