New Delhi: Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that India is grappling with threats and challenges on many fronts, but we are cautious and ready to face any courage. Without naming Pakistan, he said in his speech that India is also a state-sponsored and state-borne victim of terrorism, inaugurating the biennial ‘Aero India’ show and aviation exhibition, which is now a global crisis.
On tensions with China over the country’s northern borders, he said, “We have long seen unfortunate attempts to change the status quo with border disputes.” Rajnath Singh added, “India is vigilant and at all costs, our people are ready to fight and defeat any kind of war to protect regional integrity.”
Tension has continued between India and China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh for nine months. Despite negotiations at several levels, there has been no success and the deadlock continues. Last month, the two countries agreed to quickly repel border troops in disputed areas on the LAC. Indian and Chinese military officials have held nine rounds of talks to resolve the border dispute in eastern Ladakh.
