Mizoram Rajya Sabha MP K. Vanlenwa has urged the Center to construct roads along the India-Bangladesh border.
During the vote of thanks to the President’s speech in the budget session of Parliament on Thursday. Vanlalvena also spoke about the road projects initiated by the central government in Mizoram and stressed the importance of building Indo-Bangladesh border roads. He said that the four-lane road project between Siyaha and Aizawl would start soon. He praised the center for its initiative to establish Bangladesh Border Trade Center at Karvapuchua near Talbung and built a double-lane road between Lungi and Tlabung for border trade. He also expressed his concern over non-access of some villages and BSF outposts along the Bangladesh border. He urged the Center to build road communication in these border areas.
Vanlalvena also informed that double lane road projects have also started from Aizawl to Champhai and to Tuipang for sale. He also referred to upcoming and current projects in Mizoram, such as connecting the port of Palteva Myanmar to Longtalai and said these roads would be useful not only to Mizoram but also to people from other states.
