On the orders of Satyendar Jain, Minister of Urban Development Department in Delhi, Deputy Director of Urban Development Department has written a letter to the North Delhi Municipal Corporation Commissioner. The Deputy Director of the Delhi Government has directed the North Delhi Municipal Corporation to stop the proposal to increase the councilor’s fund from 25 lakh to one and a half crores till the financial condition is correct.

The Deputy Director wrote in his letter, ‘At a time when the whole country is going through a financial crisis due to Corona. MP and MLA funds are suspended. Such a decision is beyond comprehension. Due to deteriorating financial condition, the three municipal corporations are unable to pay their employees. Earlier, the AAP has questioned the BJP-ruled North MSD raising council funds of 25 lakhs by 600% to 1.5 crore.

AAP’s MCD in-charge Durgesh Pathak has said that during the Corona era, the BJP-ruled central government withheld the funds of MPs. Similarly, the Delhi government had banned the MLA’s fund and several schemes. At such a time, increasing the fund of councilors is like a joke with the workers who are not getting salary.
