Patna: For the past several years, the liquor trade has been increasing illegally in many parts of the country, and there have been many accidents in this case. In Bihar’s Kaimur district, 2 people died of poisoning while one is in critical condition. Significantly, since April 2016, the Nitish Kumar government of the state has banned the sale and consumption of alcohol in Bihar.
Tauheed, a resident of Kurasan village, said that four people have been reported sick after drinking suspected poisonous liquor in Kursan village under Bhabua police station. In this regard, he said that two people have died, identified as 42-year-old Lalu Bind and 50-year-old Ram Kesari Kohad, while a third person has been admitted to Sadar Hospital in critical condition.
It was learned that the fourth person Dharmendra Kahar is undergoing treatment in a private hospital. Tauheed said that four-five people had drunk alcohol in Kursan village on Thursday evening. According to the information received, Bhabua’s Subdivision Police Officer (SDPO) Sunita Kumari said that she would be able to say something clear in the case only after the postmortem report of the dead. Locals said they did not know whether the suspected liquor was made locally, or brought from outside.
