12,408 new COVID-19 cases registered in India in last 24 hours, 120 deaths

This virus has taken the lives of more than 22.81 lakh infected people. In India, the cases of COVID-19 are increasing everyday, but its speed has definitely decreased compared to the earlier. According to the data released by the Health Ministry on Friday morning, the number of corona infected in the country has gone up to 1,08,02,591. In the last 24 hours (from 8 am Thursday to 8 am Friday), 12,408 new cases of corona have been reported.

In the last 24 hours, 15,853 patients have been cured. During this period 120 corona infected have died. A total of 1,04,96,308 patients have been cured so far. 1,54,823 people have died. The current number of corona cases is below two lakhs. At present there are 1,51,460 active cases in the country. Talking about the recovery rate, it has reached 97.16 percent after a slight increase. This is the highest ever. The positivity rate is 1.40 percent. Death rate is 1.43 percent. Significantly, the latest National Sero Survey of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has found that more than 21 per cent of the population aged 10 years and above has been found to have corona infection in the past. The government gave this information on the previous day. It was also said that large sections of the population are still at risk of infection.

The third national sero survey of ICMR was conducted between December 7 and January 8. Presenting the results of the survey, ICMR Director General Dr. Balram Bhargava said that 28,589 people aged 18 years and above were surveyed during this period. In which 21.4 per cent people were diagnosed with corona infection in the past, while 25.3 per cent of children between the age of 10 and 17 were also confirmed. Bhargava said that 19.1 percent of the population in rural areas had evidence of presence of SARS-COV-2, while in urban slums, the figure was found to be 31.7 percent.
